Engine Company Chauffeur - Westbrook

Students gathered at the Westbrook Fire Department on Thursday, April 18 for a lecture and discussion about the role of the Engine Company Operator on the fireground. On the weekend of April 20 and 21, students completed a variety of practical skills to reinforce these concepts. This program included work on establishing a water supply, supplying water to attack lines, master streams, aerial waterway operations, drafting and relay pumping. This course had representation from the Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Killingworth, Middlefield and Essex Fire Departments. Students and instructors alike enjoyed a great time of learning together and walking away even better prepared to operate effectively in this important role.
