The Middlesex County Fire School is presenting the “Engine Company Chauffeur” Course to be hosted by the Westbrook Fire Department. This three-day course combines a lecture format with practical skills aimed at teaching Firefighters the basics when it comes to pump operations and operating on the fireground as the pump operator. The course includes a discussion on different kinds of fire pumps, apparatus and controls along with hydraulic calculations with two days spent conducting practical evolutions that concentrate on pumping, drafting, water supply and relay pumping. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a course completion certificate.
